Soundproof Curtains

Soundproof curtains are a cost effective way of reducing incoming exterior noise as well as lessening interior noise to the outside. This is mainly achieved through the density of the material or through air chambers built into the material. With the windows of your home, office or space being a primary contributor to unwanted noise another option to soundproof curtains would be  to install a double pane or and additional exterior window. Though there is a good chance you will find this to be more expensive. Obviously, you are going to have some sound that will enter and or exit around the edges of the curtains but this should be minimal as long as the desired area is covered sufficiently.  You also have  the option of using double sided tape to adhere to the wall and connecting parts of the curtain to help ensure a good seal. It is also a good idea for the soundproof curtains to be hung so they are not flat but rather so they form the back and forth wave reminiscent of an accordion and they are also not solely for windows but can be used to cover walls and doors as well.

Where To Find Soundproof Curtains

You generally won’t find soundproof curtains at your typical home stores although I believe Bed Bath And Beyond carries a reasonably price set. You are more likely to have better luck at a commercial retailer with your best bet for variety and pricing being on the internet. The soundproofing material in noise control curtains does tend to make them a bit more costly than your typical curtains but it is still a good way to obtain cheap room soundproofing.

Soundproof Curtains Final Thoughts

Most any situation you are experiencing due to excessive noise, soundproof curtains is a good first step to take when it comes to dealing with it and more likely the least expensive. you can always add  other noise barriers like soundproof insulation, fabric wall panels , soundproof windows and many others but this is a good start and hopefully all you need. Whether your focus is to keep noise in or out soundproof curtains are a great economical option.
